Applications are invited from Indian nationals belonging to booked categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under special recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.
Several Departments likewise participate in the teaching and research activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the pertinent departments among those noted above.
Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, and so on) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with an excellent scholastic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the first three years, and can be regularized afterwards. For those with 3 or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, routine consultation can be made.
The Institute follows appointment in direct recruitment according to the provisions of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The existing special drive advertisement is to fill up 56 backlog jobs in reserved classifications till 31st December 2024.

Other information:
1. The pay brings all other allowances as permissible to a Central Civil servant stationed at Kanpur.
2. The benefits, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transportation allowance, children education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone bills, book grants, HRA (if housing not provided), research study initiation grant (up to Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to request an extra grant) and financial backing towards and worldwide conferences will be allowed as per the Institute norms.
3. From its internal resources, the Institute provides an extra top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- monthly for the first 3 years of service to the newly signed up with professor. After 3 years of service, the professor(s) are eligible for factor to consider for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for faculty of age upto 40 years) providing a top-up income of Rs.15,000/- each month for 3 years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- monthly for three years. Both the positions are offered based upon efficiency.
4. Traveling allowance for signing up with: The Institute will reimburse global travel expenses for the recently signed up with professors member and reliant member of the family to the optimum limitation of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel repayment will be according to federal government guidelines.
5. The Institute makes every effort to offer real estate to all professor. The homes are equipped with totally free high-speed internet.
6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a prospect for being required interview.
7. Applicants who do not fulfil the minimum experience requirements may be provided a consultation on agreement. The requirements of minimum credentials and/or experience might be relaxed in the case of prospects with impressive credentials.
8. The Institute follows the reservation in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The prospects are required to submit the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this function. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of SC/ST, OBC & PwD.

11. Applicants required and appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the fastest path (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please keep in mind that the quantity of fare shall be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be looked after by the Institute.
12. Applicants who are used in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their employer at the time of the interview.
